Water Conservation

If you could reduce your expenses related to water use (e.g. water, sewer, heating) by 25%, 50% or even 75%, would you do it?

We would.

Conserving water should be a goal for any business; it's good for the environment and your profit margin.  Currently water is $1.33 per 1,000 gallons and sewer rates are 83% of the water bill.  If your business uses a lot of water, thinking about was to reduce your usage can really save you money. It doesn't sound like a lot, but it can really add up. Say you could reduce 10,000's per month.

Water = $1.33 X 10 = $13.30

Sewer Service = $13.30 X 83% = $11.04

Monthly Savings = $24.34

Yearly Savings = $24.34 X 12 = $292.08

Low-flow features are inexpensive and easy to install and can provide dramatic results.  And don't let the name fool you, low flow doesn't mean slow or weak water pressure.  Conventional water faucets put out about 4 gallons of water per minute.  Consider installing low flow faucets, which can drastically reduce the water flow to between 0.5 and 2.5 gallons per minute.
