CFL (compact fluorescent light) bulbs will save you money. Lots of money. According the the folks over at the Energy Star program, each bulb will save you about $30 over the life of the bulb. If you have ~ 33 lights in your business that you could change out, that is a cool grand you just saved.

CFLs use 75% less energy than incandescents and can last 8-10 years. So your energy bills will drop and you won’t have to replace the bulbs for years. Not convinced? Put your hand near one of your incandescent bulbs and feel all that energy (aka your profit margin) radiating right out of your light fixtures. Believe us now? Good.

Some business owners are concerned about the light that is emitted from CFL's in that they think it makes their guests look older or in a restaurant the food look worse. However there are different shades of light for CFL's these days, so don't give up if the first bulb is not exactly right for you.
