It is important for every business to have a coordinator that can keep your GreenBusinessProject.com profile up to date, learn about other programs and generally manage the progress internally.

If you are serious about becoming sustainable, it eventually must infiltrate all aspects of the organization. Until that happens it is necessary to have an individual or team whose job it is to shepherd the effort. When that individual holds this role, he or she is often called Sustainability Coordinator. Putting a person in charge does several things, one is that it makes it so that someone is always thinking about it and two, it sends a clear message to all of the other employees that you are serious about becoming sustainable.

Be careful though as all organizations are so far from being sustainable that it would be easy for your sustainability coordinator to become burned out. Work with them to set priorities and only bit off what you can chew at a time. Ultimately, its best to work on enrolling others to get involved as is possible to facilitate the entire business to move towards sustainability.

Here are some suggested books to for you and the Sustainability Coordinator of your business.
